Grant funding overview
Through the provision of grants, we also hope to enable clinical trials for PHTS to test drugs that can potentially reverse the impact of PTEN gene mutation, and thereby alleviate, reverse or prevent PHTS manifestations.
PTEN Research Foundation’s grant funding is aimed at supporting academic research projects, which increase the mechanistic understanding of PTEN mutations in PHTS and the downstream pathways leading to PHTS manifestations. Funding opportunities also exist for the discovery and clinical validation of biomarkers of PTEN activity, or its downstream effectors, which will complement clinical research. We will also fund longitudinal studies and epidemiology research that increases the understanding of the natural history of PHTS. Funding may also be granted for projects involving the identification of molecular drug targets and drug discovery.
