Dr Kozlakidis is an expert in biobanking: the preservation of biological samples. He is the President of the International Society of Biological and Environmental repositories (ISBER) and is the Chair of the Centre of Excellence for Infectious Diseases for the BBMRI-ERIC (Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure - European Research Infrastructure Consortium). His current work at the World Health Organisation involves the development of next generation sequencing diagnostics for a number of major viral pathogens in routine healthcare. It is overseen by the UK Department of Health and the Wellcome Trust at University College London. Dr Kozlakidis is a Fellow of the Linnean Society, Royal Academy of Sciences and an Associate of King’s College London. He holds an Executive MBA from Cass Business School and is co-founder of the City Healthcare Innovation Network.
